A trip to your local mechanic for a tune-up is a must before you leave for vacation. This can be done by a smaller local mechanic or larger chain like Meineke, Pep Boy or Midas. They will check things like the engine, heating and cooling systems, belts and hoses, coolant, power steering and more. It is better to take the time and spend some to be sure your vehicle is in prime running condition before you leave. You surely do not want to get stuck somewhere with a shady mechanic. Antifreeze made for your car will lubricate your water pump and seals used in your particular car. Without the correct antifreeze, your water pump will wear out quicker and that will cost you big bucks.
Affordability - Just because you're on a budget doesn't mean you can't get the best car wax. On the other hand, just because you have lots of dough in your pocket doesn't mean you should spend the equivalent of a car payment on your wax. While you can find some at the local dollar store and even one for a mere $98,000 claiming to be the best car wax, there is a happy medium. A good car wax should cost somewhere in between the $10 to $20 range.
